Trauma
I recognize that dealing with trauma can feel overwhelming and isolating, and I am here to support you through every step of your healing journey. My priority is to create a safe, empathetic space where you can share your experiences without fear of judgment. Together, we will work on building your strength and resilience, helping you find a path to peace and recovery. In therapy, we will work to uncover the sources of trauma in your life to process and resolve it. The different types of trauma I treat are the following:
-
Acute Trauma: This results from a single, distressing event, such as a serious accident, natural disaster, or violent attack.
-
Chronic Trauma: This occurs from repeated and prolonged exposure to highly stressful events, such as ongoing abuse, domestic violence, or living in a war zone.
-
Complex Trauma: This type involves exposure to multiple, varied traumatic events, often of an invasive, interpersonal nature, usually occurring during childhood.
-
Developmental Trauma: This occurs when children are exposed to early trauma, such as neglect, abandonment, or abuse, affecting their development.
-
Secondary or Vicarious Trauma: This affects those who work with trauma survivors, such as therapists, first responders, or family members.
-
Historical or Intergenerational Trauma: This refers to trauma that affects multiple generations, often seen in communities that have experienced systemic oppression or cultural trauma.
I use a combination of talk therapy, attachment-based therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and cognitive behavior therapy to help clients resolve their trauma.
